Carbon4PUR is a European project aimed at recycling industrial gases (CO2/CO fraction) into intermediate compounds used in the manufacture of polyurethane plastics and polyols for applications related to thermal insulation (rigid foams) and coatings (epoxy resins).
A EUROPEAN INDUSTRIAL FUMES RECOVERY PROJECT
Alongside the Port of Marseille Fos, a member of the European consortium, the PIICTO association aims to facilitate the synergy between ArcelorMittal (producing industrial fumes) and Covestro (CO/CO2 consumer) by evaluating CO2 sources and contributing to the analysis of the technical and economic feasibility of transporting and recovering these industrial emissions.
The studies carried out in Fos-sur-Mer also target the replicability of these circular economy solutions to other ecosystems on a European scale.
CARBON4PUR: A PIICTO DEMONSTRATOR
Since 2015, the Caban-Tonkin Industrial and Innovation Platform (PIICTO) has brought together the industrial entities located in the Caban-Tonkin area and the Port of Marseille Fos.
